Special Displays

Enjoy the Cherrywood VanGogh DUTCH Exhibit, two creative challenge exhibits, and guild community outreach displays including Quilts of Valor, Community Quilts, Baby Quilts and Cancer Hats at Celebrate Quilting 2018!

Welcoming the Cherrywood VanGogh DUTCH Exhibit to Celebrate Quilting!

Vincent van Gogh is one of the world’s most beloved artists. The participants in this challenge were inspired by his work and life to create their own small masterpieces. The quilts are made entirely from hand dyed suede-look cotton from Cherrywood Fabrics.

The strong visual impact of this exhibit is due to the cohesive color, size and fabric. The second of two traveling exhibits, “The Dutch Gallery” represents a wide range of subject matter and beautiful quilting techniques in 80 quilts.

Dots & Stripes Challenge

Create a quilt of your choice using dots and stripes. The variety of dotted and striped fabrics available seems unlimited, so using fabrics of varying scale, color and style, you can create many different effects. Your quilt may be playful, whimsical and fun, or precise and symmetrical. For a unique look, try fussy cutting stripes and piece the units into elegant motifs or blocks. Let your imagination lead the way and join the Dots & Stripes Challenge!

  1. Perimeter must be between 160” and 280”
  2. Dots and Stripes must make up at least 50% of the quilt, so that they are the predominant feature of the quilt when viewed.
  3. Quilts will be judged and eligible for ribbons and prize money.
