Word Quilt Challenge and Display

joy Ozark Piecemakers is pleased to present a special Word Quilt display during the quilt show, a result of a creative quilting challenge issued to guild members. The following guidelines were given for the challenge:

Quilt design must include a word, or combination of words, that are pieced, appliquéd, or embroidered and with at least one word readily visible when viewing the quilt.  Embellishments such as beads, buttons, or yarn are acceptable.

Minimum size is 40"x40".  The quilt may be any shape as long as the measurements of all sides added together total at least 160".

Maximum size is 60”x72".  When measurements of all sides are added together the quilt must be no larger than 264".

Quilts may be an original design, or made from a published pattern, block of the month, or kit.

The Word quilts will be entered in a special Word Challenge category and will be judged by 2016 quilt show judge, Shelly Burge.  Ribbons will be awarded.  In addition, guild members will vote for their favorite quilt.

Deadline for entry is Friday, June 30th, 2016.
