Barb Eikmeier – Lectures

Barb Headshot 4We are happy to announce that Barb Eikmeier will be a lecturer at our 2016 quilt show!

Barb grew up in Willows, CA where she learned to sew at a young age in 4-H. She officially made her first quilt while in high school but didn’t begin to quilt seriously until after her marriage in 1984.
 .
Married to a career army officer, quilting became her portable career as they moved around the country and to South Korea. Her classes at those military assignments were popular among both American and International students.
She has written four books, published by Martingale & Co, of which the newest one, Back Basting Appliqué Step by Step, was released in 2013. She was a staff writer for Quilting Quarterly, the National Quilting Association’s membership magazine, and is a fabric designer for Paintbrush Studios. Her first fabric line, Vintage Shirting and Dress Prints was released in 2015. Barb currently lives in Lansing, Kansas with her husband, Dale, (now retired from the army), and an ever changing entourage of family pets, currently two dogs and two cats. Her adult children live with many of her quilts in their own homes; Eric and his wife Brooke, and daughter, Etta, in California and Sarah, in Minnesota. A is for Applique

Flower-pot-869x1024Our final lecture is scheduled for 10:00 AM on Friday and will feature Barb Eikmeier with A is for Applique. She will delight us with a trunk show of applique quilts and tops. Styles range and include Brodiere Perse, Hawaiian applique, and traditional designs. 2016 Opportunity Quilt – The Piecemakers’ Garden

2016 Donation Quilt

This fun, original quilt, The Piecemakers' Garden, was designed around beautiful applique from the pattern My Whimsical Garden, published by Piece O'Cake Designs, and used with their permission. It was pieced, appliqued, and quilted by guild members. The quilt will be out and about through the year at area events. The winning ticket will be drawn at our quilt show on Saturday, September 10, 2016, at 3:30 PM. To purchase tickets you may contact any guild member, attend a meeting, purchase by mail, contact our ticket chairman, Diane Williams, or attend our quilt show September 8-10, 2016.

To purchase tickets by mail please send your name, complete address, phone number and a check for the number of tickets you wish to purchase. Include the appropriate number of address labels to place on the tickets and a self-addressed stamped envelope so we can confirm your purchase and send the ticket stubs to you. Mail these to:

Guild Displays

Guild members with special interests have the opportunity to belong to small groups within the guild. They meet monthly to learn new techniques and work on group challenges/projects, or individual projects. Groups displaying their talents include:
