Dawn Heese – Lectures

We are happy to announce that Dawn Heese will be a lecturer at our 2018 quilt show!
.
Dawn grew up in a family of quilters and stitchers and has been doing some kind of needlework her whole life. She "really got into quilting" in 1999 and set out to teach herself everything she could about the process.

In 2008 she partnered with Kansas City Star Quilts and published her first book, Geese in the Rose Garden. She went on to produce 4 more books with KC Star. Book publishing led to magazine work and she started her design company, Linen Closet Designs, in the fall of 2010.

Her work can be seen regularly in magazines such as Primitive Quilts and Projects, Quiltmania, and Simply Vintage. Linen Closet Designs releases new designs twice a year. Dawn's sixth book, From the Linen Closet, published by Quiltmania, made it's debut in April 2017.

Her love of hand work has led to many designs that feature needleturn applique and wool applique. She is also a hand quilter, and will often do big stitch quilting on her quilts with pearl cotton.

Dawn states that "I am so blessed to be able to work doing what I love.
