Lori East is an AQS Certified Quilt Appraiser, textile historian, teacher, lecturer and quilt maker from Carthage, Missouri.
Lori learned to sew and crochet at a young age, taught by her mother and grandmother. She made her first quilt when she was nine. She enjoys exploring all types of quilt making, from traditional to art quilts. She finds great joy in using old castoff pieces of quilt tops, quilt blocks, or vintage fabrics to create her one-of-a-kind quilts. She loves “all things handmade, homemade and things with a story.” Lori describes herself as serious about quilt history, but she allows no “Quilt Police” in her studio.
Lori appraises old and new quilts, and she will even appraise quilts that are entered and hanging in the show.
